Eagan was established in 1860 and was historically named after Patrick Eagan, farmer of a 220-acre patch of land near present-day town hall and first chairman of the town board of supervisors. “The Onion Capital of the U.S.” is a wonderful place to call home, but for us Minnesota Vikings fans, it’s an especially fantastic home base!
Eagan, MN, is home to the Minnesota Viking’s TCO Performance Center training facility and Vikings Museum. The museum is a great day of fun for the entire family, and tickets are available for purchase for viewing Vikings Training Camp practices. Kids under 36” tall can watch Training Camp practices for free, and adult tickets start at $10. Get up close and personal with the Vikings and learn about the history of the Twin Cities’ home team!
Eagan is also known for being home of the Upper Midwest’s largest outdoor waterpark. You’ll find plenty of family fun for an affordable price at Cascade Bay. You’ll be greeted by plentiful water slides, the Lazy River, family-friendly amenities, and snacks galore at Captain’s Galley. Our Viking Blinds team has a ton of fun here during the summer, and we always end our water-filled day with a nine-hole round of mini golf at Captain’s Course!
There’s so much fun to be had in Eagan, and we enjoy being a short drive from the Twin Cities’ other fantastic amenities and activities. You’ll find yourself only about 5-10 minutes from Bloomington, MN, home to Mall of America and Nickelodeon’s only exclusive theme park: Nickelodeon Universe.
